They are finding this value through social media. Social media marketing for contractors is important because it helps contractors interact with customers online and in platforms they are already familiar with. Here are a few helpful tips on implementing a social media marketing strategy that any contractor can use today. Continue reading “Social Media Marketing for Contractors”

If you are a smart business person, chances are you have a variety of social sites you belong to. You also probably realize that you can’t be on those sites 24/7 so you need to find some ways to manage those profiles without having to be on them 24/7. Thankfully, there are management tools you can use to help manage all the profiles you have. Most of the social sites I’ll be mentioning below deal with a dashboard that allows you to manage various sites at once, but some of these are specialized specifically for one site like Twitter or Facebook. There are websites out there like HootSuite, which is pretty awesome by the way, but not free or minimally not free. Below are sites that are free and allow you to do a variety of things from posting to tracking to keyword trending.
Honestly, social mention is one of the easier sites to use in this list. That could be bad or good depending on you. Sometimes you don’t want easy because easily usually means less features. On the other hand, if you don’t have time to waste and you don’t need all the bells and whistles, social mention could be the tool for you. This is a tool very similar to that of Google Alerts, but with Social Mention they only monitor social sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and about 80 more sites. You also have an option to be sent daily emails to your inbox.
Another very easy and straightforward tool to use that can actually help monitor your web presence, brand reputation and influence on the web. Addictomatic searches sites like Flickr, WordPress, Twitter, Bing and Google and can find the most recent or relevant blogs, videos, images or whatever else based wholly on keywords. If this sounds a lot like using a Google search engine, it is, but it’s also different because it clumps your results into categories, rather than altogether like Big G does. If you are one of the lucky people that has ties with a top digital marketing company you probably already have someone that keeps track of data. But, if you want to go a different route or you want to keep track of data on your own, this is the tool to do it with.
Unlike the above sites that keep track of data, this one keeps track of your accounts – a lot of them. You can measure and monitor social sites like Facebook and Instagram, but you can also do other things with it like use Google Analytics, PayPal and more. In fact, their free service has around 42 different options that connect you to different services. This is a huge time saver as it keeps track of everything in one little convenient tool in one spot. You can also receive daily updates from the site directly to your inbox to really stay on top of things!
If you are using Facebook to market, I hope you are using Insights too! One of the biggest benefits to using Facebook Insights is that it helps you understand your customers and their behaviors a little more. For instance, if you want, you can create a schedule of posts based on the time of day or even a specific day – once you do so, those posts are posted on that specific day and time. For example, say you see a large influx of posts being read on Monday’s around 4:00. Well, you can base your posts around that time on that day to hopefully get more readers reading your posts. Facebook Insights also allows you to keep track of likes, post reach, post type (Facebook, twitter, other sources) and you can also keep track of competitor’s activity too. You can use that to your advantage! If you have a competitor and they post on Sundays at 5:00am and get a lot of engagement, perhaps you could do the same and also get engagement.
If you ever wished you had a person that was constantly generating new ideas for things you can post on your blog or special sites, you’ve met your match! Swayy does this and so much more. Swayy can help suggest all sorts of content like videos, infographics, articles and more. You’re also automatically given twitter and Facebook handles to share this content, which means you might get a thank you by the originator by sharing some of your content or your site to their fans. Very useful indeed.
Over the past few years, infographics, especially quality infographics have become very popular. But, if you have no idea how or where to create one, you are in luck! Easel.ly is a website that helps you create infographics. In fact, since 2012 when it first launched, Easel.ly has “easily” helped over 300,000 people create over 5,000 graphics! It’s really simple and I promise no matter how untechnical you are, you will be able to create an awesome infographic to share wherever you want. All you have to do is pick a free template and then start adding in your data. Here is a sample one I created:
I made that in about 20 minutes. You can choose from all sorts of colors, headers, objects, text types and more. Go ahead and have a look for yourself. You don’t even have to sign up for an account. Play around with it just to see what amazing things you could create to add to your blog or social sites!

Good Search Engine Optimization is hard time consuming work. Building a successful campaign is like building a solid structure that is going to stand the test of time. An SEO campaign is successful when it has a foundation that is solid enough to be able to endure many challenges posed by competitors and changes that occur in the search engine ranking algorithms. There are many different aspects and elements included in SEO best practices and SEO itself is constantly in a state of flux. The elements of successful SEO campaigns can be brought down to three essential parts which will work together to support each other and the entire campaign: content, links and social media. Working with a reputable SEO firm can help ensure that you utilize the latest in SEO best practices on your site.
High Quality Content
It’s just logical that great content is an essential part of SEO strategies. Your website should act as a hub and contain good content as part of the on-site strategies. It is noteworthy to mention that the site itself must be high quality as successful SEO simply cannot exist with a poor website. Every piece of content on a site should be high quality and purposeful. For an SEO campaign to be successful there are no shortcuts. Remember that articles or blog posts are indexed by the web crawlers but should be developed for the readers not the search engines. Blogs and websites should be regularly updated with fresh, unique and valuable content. There is also some content that is seen only by browsers and crawlers – Meta content. URLs, Meta titles, Meta descriptions, and Meta keywords are all considered to be “content” and must accurately use SEO best practices.
